Brooklyn Vintage Sports started in 2023 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Ryan, our founder, is a native Philadelphian, a diehard Philly sports fan and fitness enthusiast who moved to Brooklyn back in 2020.

After a few years in Williamsburg, Ryan started noticing his peers wearing oversized, vintage-style tees with big graphic prints. He loved the look and wanted to wear those retro style designs repping the teams he loved watching. So he taught himself how to design and manufacture apparel, mostly to save a few bucks and add another hobby to the list.

But people kept asking where he got his shirts everywhere he went. What started as a personal project turned into an Etsy shop that sold over 8,000 shirts in under three years. What began as a one man team is now a team of five, plus consultants, plus you — our beloved customers.

Design and manufacturing became Ryan's creative outlet during his recovery from mental health and substance abuse struggles. Getting lost in the work, seeing a design come together perfectly, reading a positive customer review, watching a new drop take off, all of it delivers a natural high he can rely on. We share this because we want others in similar situations to know that recovery is possible and that building something you love can be part of it.

To back that up, Brooklyn Vintage donates 1% of our annual revenue to mental health and substance abuse charities every year.

We just turned 3 years old as a business. Going forward we're doing things differently. This re-branded site is our new home and everything else lives on Instagram at @bkvintage.shop. Right now we're focused on new designs for New York and Philly sports teams, plus our own Brooklyn Vintage branded apparel. We'll expand into other cities as demand grows.
